Kullu is a bewitcing region, every part of which has a charm of its own. In the spring, Kullu is at most colorful form. Early in March, apricot and plum trees, dotted along he fields burst into pink blossom and wild medlars are crowned with white flowers.In the 17th century, Raja Jagat Singh intalled here an ideal of Lord Raghunathji, which he brought from Ayodhya. As a mark of his penance he placed the idol on his throne and it became the presiding deity of the valley.

Other temples around Kullu include Vaishno Devi, 4 km. on the Manali road, where the goddess is enshrined in a cave. Jagannathi Devi is 4.8 km. away from Bhekhi village which affords good view of Kullu. The Bijli Mahadev temple is set on a spur and famous for its 60ft high staff which periodically attracts lightening that the Shivalinga each time this happens.
